Mr. Acquah received his B.Sc. in Physics (major in Medical Physics) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 2007. He then successfully pursued his graduate studies at the University of Ghana’s Graduate School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences and received his MPhil in Medical Physics in 2011. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Medical Physics at the University of Ghana, Legon.
Mr. Acquah joined the Sweden Ghana Medical Centre (SGMC Cancer Center), Accra, Ghana in 2012 as an Assistant Medical physicist after completing his clinical training at the National Radiotherapy Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Centre (NRONMC), Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana. He is a certified Clinical Medical Physicist by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) of Ghana and holds numerous professional certifications. He exited SGMC Cancer Center in 2020 as their Lead Medical Physicist and Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) and joined the ‘G.I.E Group’ as a Group Medical Physicist and now stationed at the Center International de Cancérologie de Lomé (CICL) in Lomé, Togo.
Mr. Acquah is an International Affiliate member of American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). He is also a Professional member of the Ghana Society of Medical Physics (GSMP) and the Federation of African Medical Physics Organization (FAMPO). He serves as a member on the Professional development committee of FAMPO and Professional Relation committee of the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) for Africa. He also serves with Radiating Hope (Non-Profit Oncology Organization) as the Medical Physics Liaison for Ghana. His love to share his knowledge with others has seen him trained many Clinical Medical Physicists and supervised BSc. and MPhil. Medical Physics graduates and undergraduate students across Africa.
Mr. Acquah has a number of scientific publications, conference posters and oral presentations under his belt. He believes that excellence is a drive from inside, not outside and as such excellence is not for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction and efficiency.
